Manager, Patient Accounts

The manager position is a key position in Patient Accounts Services, overseeing the billing and collection of Government Account teams.The position must be knowledgeable of all Medicare and Medicaid rules and regulations, along with reimbursement of these payors. Experience with the EPIC system is preferred, along with experience with the Passport billing system. Strong leadership skills in leading patient accounts teams, and working with multidisciplinary committees. The manager must demonstrate forward thinking in implementing new technologies and process improvement.

Job Summary
Maintains days outstanding at or below GHS standards. Develops, implements, and manages processes, procedures and personnel in assigned area(s) of responsibility to ensure timely, accurate and professional resolution of all GHS patient accounts and third party claims. Maintains good relationships (in accordance with GHS Service Excellence) with patients, third party payers, and ancillary departments of GHS. Incumbent will be responsible for part or all of assigned functions as determined by Director.
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
Job has direct and/or indirect supervision of employees that may include final budget authority, hire/termination/disciplinary authority, performance appraisal responsibility. Job will be considered a member of the management staff with direct reports.
Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree - Business Administration, Accounting/Finance or related field is preferred but not required
Minimum Experience
5 years - Revenue Cycle, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related area

In lieu of the Above Minimum Requirements
High school diploma and 8 years experience in Revenue Cycle with 3 years in a supervisory or management role.

Extensive experience in personnel management. Strong knowledge of accounting, patient accounting, and third party reimbursement - Required
Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to handle multiple priorities and to organize/coordinate assignments independently - Required
