Manufacturing Engineer (Assembly & Test)
Job Description:
The Manufacturing Engineer Assembly & Test (ME-A&T) is responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing processes, equipment and tools in assembly and test. The ME-A&T applies Advanced Quality and Lean Manufacturing tools to optimize newly developed and existing processes.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Prepares process flow diagrams, time studies, process FMEAs, capability studies and control plans in support of new product releases, cost reductions and product modifications
Specifies and develops hydraulic test to verify that product is compliant with specifications
Specifies and develops the tooling and/or equipment necessary to manufacture a product with respect to the cost, quality, and ease of manufacturing objectives.
Responsible for determining the necessary sequence of operations needed to meet manufacturing, quality and cost requirements
Identifies capital equipment requirements and prepares Return of Investment (ROI) calculations to justify expenditures. Manages capital investment projects.
Works on special projects and assignments directed toward the implementation of Lean Manufacturing
Creates Standard Work instructions
Trains personnel in new processes, methods, and use of equipment
Reports progress on projects and activities in an affective manner to peers, management and customers
Job
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or Industrial Engineering
Minimum of three years experience in manufacturing preferably in assembly and test with proven success in implementing process or product improvements
Experience in Project Management
The candidate must be able to work in a team atmosphere and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
The candidate must demonstrate leadership and flexibility to complete projects and assignments successfully
Environmental Statement:
Must understand, comply with, and communicate to team members, all environmental, heath, and safety legislation and regulation relevant to areas of responsibility. Must also train team members with regard to these regulations where applicable.
