IT Infrastructure Steering Manager

Steers and governs arms of all IT infrastructure in the region, including budgetary controls, process improvements, and adherence to corporate policy and procedureResponsible for the process implementation within department and all IT products and respective services throughout the entire life cycle in the above-mentioned context Leads in the definition and delivery of the IT strategy within their Department, in collaboration with various Business and the relevant FG organizations; influences the delivery of the IT strategy within the region Drives improvements and changes in existing processesCrafts concepts or methods that allow for sustainable enhancements in ways of workingAnticipates technological and environmental changes in the respective area of responsibility and drives changes within organization and process to enable adoptionEnables innovation through forward-looking skills and capacity management Identifies new technologies and trends as they support business processes and improve IT efficiencies, in close collaboration with business and other FG functions Influences the definition and delivery of technology-based elements of business strategies within their Business Unit through relevant Business/IT roadmaps and product visions Initiates, designs and controls the development of the IT processes and procedures for the Business within their direct span of control Ensures the stable and efficient operation of the IT products as aligned with product portfolio for all domains/products mentioned aboveEnsures adherence to all IT governance requirements (including IT security, IT compliance, IT risk and IT architecture)Leads the fulfillment of business requirements in a globalized environment which requires highly developed influencing and communication skills (e.gconvincing, mitigating, and influencing in order to find the right balance between Group solutions/directions and local needs) Convinces stakeholders of the benefits of following standard methodology and processes Lobbies for project and funding approvals with management across the business and IT, in the Region, in Munich and with IT locations worldwideManages escalation with vendors and service providers, in collaboration with other impacted BMW Stakeholder (e.gpurchasing, finance, legal, compliance) Promotes networking with the IT functions across FG, and with IT product organizations in business departments, and uses good networking practices to standardize and improve efficiencyUnderstands and models VPS (Value Added Production System) Principles and concepts of Standard Work and Problem SolvingAdheres to 5S and Safety Standards and PrinciplesPerforms other duties as assigned by managementUnderstands and models VPS (Value Added Production System) Principles and concepts of Standard Work and Problem SolvingAdheres to 5S and Safety Standards and PrinciplesPerforms other duties as assigned by managementBA/BS degree in Business, Information Technology, Engineering or the equivalent of 4 years of experience in the management of information technology application development, maintenance and support 7

years of Industry knowledge with Infrastructure products and services (IaaS, PaaS, Network, Workspace (End Devices; PC, Printers, Telephony, scanners etc) 5
years of strong people leadership skills and a proven capability to lead in matrix organizations without formal disciplinary responsibility (this includes the ability to lead peers successfully)5
years of ability to challenge and optimize existing processes, technologies and collaboration models to support the Group#s transition towards a technology company. 3
