Position
Summary:
Director, West End Events at Fluor Field Non-baseball events are a critical aspect of the Drive's business, growing in importance each and every year.
Prior to the 2017 season, the Drive completed over $15M in ballpark renovations with the primary emphasis being to make the ballpark more event friendly.
Today, Fluor Field positions itself as the most unique event platform across the Upstate community featuring multiple event spaces and the field itself.
There's quite literally an event space for every person, every company/organization, every size, and every need at Fluor Field.
Launched in April 2017, West End Events at Fluor Field is an integrated business unit within the Drive's broader business portfolio - seeking to leverage the equity the Drive has built over 18
seasons in Greenville.
The incoming Director will be tasked with guiding and executing the Drive's event business with the ultimate goal of making Fluor Field the most desirable location in the Upstate to host an event.
The West End Events at Fluor Field Director is a critical member of the Drive team working in collaboration with Food & Beverage, Chef, and the facilities team.
Job Overview & Responsibilities We are currently seeking a creative, high-energy, and motivated Events Director with an upscale background.
This individual will seek to maximize the potential of the Drive's event business, positioning Fluor Field as the Upstate's most preferred event venue across all categories:
corporate, philanthropic, wedding, and festival.
Specific responsibilities of the job include the following:
1.
Strategic Event Oversight & Planning Construct, oversee, and manage a year-round calendar of the Drive's event business seeking to maximize both the quality and quantity of the events hosted at Fluor Field each year.
Exhibit strong conceptual planning, creative vision, and innovation skills.
This position will work closely with the Drive's VP of Sales to maximize relationship value across the organization (i.
e.
, baseball and non-baseball business).
Developing synergy and a good working relationship with other departments within the Drive organization will be key to event selling and execution success.
2.
Event Marketing & Outreach Lead the creation and promotion of the West End Events @ Fluor Field brand in the community - seeking to increase awareness and education of the Drive's event capabilities.
Through studying our own offerings as well as comparable event venues throughout the region, help manage and execute a competitive pricing strategy for the Drive's event business - ensuring that all event proposals reflect the Drive's standard competitive events pricing structure as well as unique client needs where appropriate.
Continue expanding the Drive's event's capabilities and expertise by fostering relationships with other Upstate event companies, event services vendors, and others in the community with events expertise - ensuring best practices are regularly applied to regularly enhance the Drive's event business.
3.
Event Execution & Account Management Ensure flawless delivery of all non-baseball events held at Fluor Field each year.
Work alongside food and beverage and stadium operations departments to properly plan and execute successful events.
Ensure smooth and streamlined shared resource management across all Drive departments for event purposes (e.
g.
, Sponsorship/Community events assistance, Sales team integration, etc.
).
Exhibit a commitment to excellence that starts from the top and feeds into every touch point associated with the event experience provided by West End Events.
4.
Talent Management Lead all staffing needs related to the West End Events business.
This includes direct oversight of the existing (2) Events Manager positions and the Event Operations Assistant, all of which are full-time positions.
Create and maintain a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance, feedback, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction.

Event Reporting & Financial Performance Manage an event tracking document that helps track event listings and financial performance.
The tracking document should outline the financial performance of individual events and overall financial performance of the events business vs.
goal/budget targets on an annual basis.
Ensure constant and concise communication of the events schedule and progress across all Drive personnel and departments.
Ensure that all internal staff are aware of the upcoming event schedule.
Job Qualifications 4-year College degree or equivalent preferred.
Five or more years of experience in the events/hospitality industry.
Be a team-leader with the ability to manage relationships with internal and external partners.
Must be flexible and able to adjust within a fast-paced work environment with shifting deadlines and schedules.
A multi-tasker with a strong work-ethic.
Ability to handle multiple events simultaneously.
Be a creative thinker and a problem solver - someone who can bring innovative ideas to grow the brand and the business and be capable of executing them.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with internal and external partners at all levels.
Resourceful and Customer Service Committed - able to creatively respond to customer requests to ensure a top quality experience.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
