Essential Job Duties:
oProvide emergency medical assistance and inter-facility transportoQuickly and efficiently assess a patient's condition and determine the best course oftreatmentoTransport patients safely in an ambulanceoProvide first aid or life support to patients who are sick or injuredoTransfer patients to the emergency area of the hospital or other healthcare facilityoReport what they saw and did to doctors, nurses or other healthcare staffoDocument what kind of medical treatment was given to the patient from the moment ofarriving at the scene to transferring the patient to the healthcare facilityoReplace, clean and buy inventory of supplies and equipment
Qualifications:
oMust have a valid state licenseo2
years previous industry experience preferredoCurrent CPR/First Aid, ACLS certifications required as well as State/NREMT CertificationoProficient with MS OfficeSkills:
oListening skills to understand the patient's extent of illness or injuryoSince Paramedics lift, kneel and bend throughout their job, they need to be physically fitoCommunication skills to speak clearly about the situation and procedures to patientsand healthcare staffoProblem solving skills for quickly understanding the patient status and symptoms andfor administering required treatmentoSinceParamedics need to provide support to patients in life-threatening situations andunder great stress, they should be compassionateoInterpersonal skills to work in teams and coordinate with others to handle stressfulsituations.
