Job SummaryPosts payments and adjustments to invoices.
ACCOUNTABILITIESReceives and follows up on incoming correspondence and telephone inquiries regarding information for payment 40%Clears edits, contacts payers and submits claims via electronic or paper claim submission according to governmental regulations, agency policies, Prisma Health guidelines and timeliness standards 10%Reviews patient accounts transaction history to ensure full understanding of next steps.
Documents work activity on the patient accounts according to departmental guidelines 10%Works and monitors electronic work queues daily resolving any outstanding accounts according to departmental guidelines 10%Adheres to policies and procedures as required by Prisma Health and follows all compliant regulatory payer guidance.
Ensures all work is compliant with privacy, HIPAA, and regulatory requirements 10%Attends required training as appropriate, participates in general or special assignments and performs other duties as assigned 10%Knowledgeable of the job functions required for a Cash Posting Representative, Claims Clearinghouse Representative and a Correspondence Representative.
Should be cross-trained and proficient operate in any of these roles if the need arises.
10%SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIESThis is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.
MINIMUM EDUCATIONHigh School diploma or equivalent preferredMINIMUM EXPERIENCE2 years- Billing, bookkeeping, accountingREQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS, REGISTRATIONS, LICENSESN/AKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS OR ABILITIESKnowledgeable of the job functions required for a Cash Posting Representative, Claims Clearinghouse Representative and a Correspondence Representative.
Should be cross trained and proficient operate in any of these roles if the need arises.
