THE JUNIOR ELECTRICAL DESIGNER AT CPL The Junior Electrical Designer is responsible for assisting in the design of power distribution, lighting and low-voltage systems for a wide array of building projects.
Reporting to an Electrical Engineer or Project Manager, you also participate in the production of associated project plans and specifications and provide oversight throughout the construction administration phase, supervising the installation of electrical systems.
You are a visionary who thrives on performing technical analyses, and you get a strong sense of satisfaction from creative problem-solving.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE Electrical Engineering or you have an equivalent combination of education and experience; an AS in a technical field of study is also acceptable, with two (2) or more years of related experience You're highly proficient in Revit and/or AutoCAD You have exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills You're technically nimble, with an acute ability to learn new programs quickly You have strong written and verbal communication skills, and you can manage public speaking with ease Your organizational capabilities are second to none, and even the most intricate details are never lost on you EIT certification (on track to become a professional engineer) is a major plus CORE DUTIES Work with senior team members to design electrical systems for building design projects Make site visits in order to document existing systems and gather owner documentation Perform calculations and participate in conceptual design planning, equipment selection and the preparation of drawings and specifications Conduct frequent codes and standards research to ensure that all methodologies are current and appropriate Assist with submittal reviews during the project construction phase Work with the design team to create design sketches, layouts and plans Use computer-assisted design software to create preliminary drawings WHAT WE OFFER:
