Senior Aluminum Steel Engineer - Mining and Metals

We are seeking an experienced Aluminum Steel Equipment Engineer that will be a key resource in the development of front end and detail engineering activities.
This candidate would be responsible for, as a minimum:
oTranslation of client product requirements into OEM equipment specification and sizingoOwner and OEM collaboration in development of an optimized plant layout utilizing current technologiesoDevelopment of system layout including material flows, equipment utilization, scrap handling, crane utilization, and operator optimizationoDevelopment of baseline project documents including equipment costs, estimates, schedules, and facility and services written scopesoPerform front end studies such as cost vs.
benefit analysis to determine most cost effective system application and layoutoDevelopment of Aluminum Steel Mill system design criteria and technical specificationsoDevelop equipment specifications, data sheets, and narratives to support the procurement of OEM equipmentoDevelop Requisitions, perform bid analysis of OEM quotes, and finalize purchasing documents.
oReview OEM designs to ensure compliance with specification requirementsoCoordinate design activities with the associated disciplines and constructionoServe as a technical specialist and mentor to other engineers in a collaborative environmentoBe a team leader and lead a team of more junior engineers in an interdisciplinary environmentoOther duties as assignedBasic Job RequirementsoAccredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in engineering field of study and ten (10) years of work-related experience; a recognized professional certification or registration in the applicable field, if required; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirementsoUnderstanding of, and experience with, rolling mill operations and maintenanceoAbility to interface and communicate with Owners and OEM SuppliersoCapable of basic Package Management including scope, schedule, and staffing from conceptual stages of a project through final baseline; scheduling and planning of equipment acquisition and installation; Quality Assurance and Safety in design and procurement of equipment.
oIdeal candidate with have an engineering background with significant applications experience in system layouts.
oPrefer experience with managing large Aluminum or Steel Processing Equipment packages in excess of $20MM.
This will include Supplier and Client interface, review and coordination of Supplier's design and documentation, Coordination of discipline interfaces for the equipment installation, schedule and cost oversight, and installation support.
oCandidate will be able to accommodate project travel as requiredPreferred Qualificationso10-20 years aluminum or steel mill and/or extrusion experience, including operations and maintenanceoUnderstanding of, and experience with, Aluminum and/or Steel Processing operations and maintenanceoExperience with:
o Manufacturing and Processing Equipment o Aluminum or Steel processing Equipment o Aluminum Coil Handling including Auto and Semi-Auto Crane Specification o Plant and Material Handling System Layouts o Hot and Cold Rolling Mills o Stretching o Coil Coating o Slitting o Heat Treating o Roll Grinding o Roll Handling and Packing o Recycle Aluminum Material HandlingNotice to Candidates:
