Ideal candidates will possess relevant industry certifications and an aptitude for working with and motivating high school students and demonstrate enthusiasm for the automotive industry.
Other highly desirable attributes for applicants are good communication skills, computer proficiency, a student-centered philosophy, familiarity with project-based instruction, and a commitment to helping students and the Innovation Center grow and be successful.

Responsibilities:
Complete all certification, curriculum, and training requirements from Greenville County Schools and the South Carolina Department of Education; o Provide a well-managed, safe, student-centered environment that is academically challenging and respectful; o Possess knowledge of grade-level curriculum, subject content knowledge, and developmental needs of students to provide relevant learning experiences; o Plan instructionally to include appropriate curricula, instructional strategies, and resources to address the needs of all students; o Promote student learning by addressing individual learning differences and using effective instructional strategies; o Gather, analyze, and use data to measure student progress, guide instruction, and provide timely feedback o Communicate effectively with students, school personnel, families, and the community Participate in ongoing training sessions and professional development; Prepare students for certifications relevant to this career field; Actively communicate and engage with industry partners and advisory committees; Enforce policies and regulations as established by the school board and professional staff; Participate in professional development offerings of the school and district; o Maintain a professional demeanor with students and colleagues; Actively contribute to the overall growth and success of students, the Innovation Center, and college and career readiness; Education Requirements:
High School Diploma with at least four years of industry experience; ASE certification in Suspension/Steering; Brakes; Electrical/Electronic Systems; Engine Performance and G1 Maintenance & Light Repair (or be able to obtain) OR Bachelors in Engineering or Automotive related discipline.
Preferred candidates will have knowledge and training in hybrid/electric vehicles, a degree in automotive or mechanical engineering, or experience in the automotive manufacturing industry.
Terms of Employment:
Nine and one-half months with salary determined by current South Carolina teaching certificate as it relates to the Teachers' Salary Schedule as approved by the Board of Trustees of Greenville County Schools.
Salary is commensurate with teaching experience and years of industry experience.
