Process Engineer 3 at Day & Zimmermann in Greenville, SC

A Process Engineer 3 is needed for a full-time, staff opportunity with Day & Zimmermann located in Greenville, SC. Process Engineer 3 provides technical expertise in both roles of Process. Responsibilities will include the development of early conceptual documents such as System Evaluation, Heat & Material Balances, Process Flow Diagrams, Calculations, Piping & Instrument Diagrams, Scopes of Work, Equipment Data Sheets, as well as support the Detailed Design Phase. The Work You'll Be Doing:
o Under administrative direction, able to lead team of engineers and designers in the performance of engineering design for multiple projects and multiple clients with minimal supervision. o Develop conceptual designs and evaluate alternative designs for suitability on the project o Coordinates work with other disciplines, departments, construction, site-based personnel, vendors, subcontractors and the client. o Manage Process scope change as required to complete deliverables within approved budgets and schedules. o Contributes to the establishment of work plans, staffing requirements and schedules for assigned team and project. o Reviews all engineering drawings, calculations and specifications for compliance with established procedures, design standards and project requirements. What You Need to Bring to the Table:
o Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering required o 8-12 Years in EPCm industry or with an operating company directly related to chemical process industry including but not limited to Munitions, Chemical, Petrochemical, Chemical Intermediates, or Fibers Industries, etc. o Professional Engineer registration (preferred), with ability to obtain PE registration in other states via exam or comity. o Great attitude and team player. o Successful completion of background screening process. o Hydraulic Modeling and Pump sizing (working knowledge or aptitude to learn AFT Fathom); Compressible Gas System Modeling (working knowledge or aptitude to learn AFT Arrow) o Development of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) & Heat & Material Balance (HMB) o Heat Transfer/Heat Exchanger Design; Process Equipment Design & Specification o Development of Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs); Experience in the development of the design basis for Capital Cost Estimates o Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite of applications, and the ability to quickly learn and use other software packages; Effective verbal and written communication skills Must be able to perform the following physical and mental tasks:
