POSITION SUMMARY
The Certified Coding Specialist is responsible for ensuring that in partnership with the physicians surgeries and office visits are accurately coded according to ICD-9 and CPT- Depending upon the size of the practice the Certified Coding Specialist may also be called upon to assist in check out, answer the telephone, pull and file medical records and input charges into the practice management system.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
The following qualifications are the minimum requirements necessary to adequately perform this job. However, any equivalent combination of experience, education and training which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities would be acceptable, subject to any legal and/or regulatory requirements.
1. High School diploma or equivalent.
2. Minimum of three to five years' experience in similar position in a medical office setting preferred.
3. Coding experience and knowledge in medical terminology and proficient use of computer preferred.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
