The HumanResources Generalist performs a variety of functions within the Human Resources department. An ideal candidate will provide a full range of day to day supportand services to employees by performing a variety of administrative, benefit/wellness,employee relations, and recruitment responsibilities and duties in the HumanResources department.
Duties Include:
Responsible for recruiting employees and coordinating with managers on hiring requirements (i.e. post open positions internally, network and recruit with or without a placement agency, schedule interviews for managers, create interview agendas, etc.);
Responsible for employee onboarding including new hire orientation, completing appropriate employment forms, reviewing HR policies and benefits, ordering badges, etc;
Coordinates, develops, and facilitates leadership training on HR related topics;
Responsible for creating and maintaining relationships with Colleges and Universities in regards to career fairs, internship programs, recruitment, etc.;
Maintains the affirmative action program; file EEO-1 reports annually, maintains records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations;
Maintain employment practices and procedures to ensure their compliance with government regulation, as well as with company policy and objectives;
Create and distribute monthly communication newsletter to Hartness International employees on upcoming events/programs;
Coordinates and acts as the Wellness Champion for all wellness initiatives;
Be a key contact for employee questions and issues, troubleshoot problems and communicate with various vendors;
Coordinates Hartness International's United Way campaign as well as other community programs;
Provide coaching and support to managers/supervisors in solving employee relation issues, such as disciplinary action, attendance, performance issues, etc.;
Coordinates employee events and activities such as company picnic, employee lunches, company outings, etc.;
Assist HR Manager with performance review program and job evaluations to ensure effectiveness with employees;
Coordinates annual benefit open enrollment process;
Provides backup and takes initiative when appropriate to provide HR services to employees and management;
Encourages diversity, individual and team development, and organizational excellence free from harassment and in compliance with all federal and state employment laws;
Promote and adhere to all safety and quality related policies and procedures;
Responsible for conducting exit interviews, completes necessary paperwork and follow up with the termination process;
Responsible for maintaining HR bulletin board;
Continuous improvement with HR processes using ITW Toolbox

Job Requirements
BS degree in Human Resources or related field, or 3 to 5 years of equivalent Human Resources experience
Knowledge of federal and state employment laws
MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)
Strong ethics and ability to maintain confidentiality
Excellent communication skills
